Athletic Training
The Philadelphia Biblical University Athletic Training Department provides quality injury evaluation and treatment for the college's student-athletes.
The athletic training room is located in the lower level of the MAC.

The staff at PBU is focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities.
Students interested in becoming certified athletic trainers must earn a degree from an accredited athletic training curriculum. Accredited programs include formal instruction in areas such as injury/illness prevention, first aid and emergency care, assessment of injury/illness, human anatomy and physiology, therapeutic modalities, and nutrition. Classroom learning is enhanced through clinical education experiences, with more than 70 percent of certified athletic trainers holding at least a master’s degree.
To become a certified athletic trainer, students must graduate with bachelors or masters degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program and pass a comprehensive test administered by the Board of Certification. Once certified, they must meet ongoing continuing education requirements in order to remain certified.
Pre-Season Screenings
Every incoming Philadelphia Biblical University Student-Athlete must have a pre-participation physical completed within six months of the start of the athlete's sport season. The examining healthcare provider must complete a Philadelphia Biblical University Athletic Clearance Pre-Participation form which can be found at the bottom of the page. Physicals may only be completed by a qualified medical practitioner.
Each year, following their first season, each student-athlete must complete a medical history form. If there are any new injuries/illnesses that occurred following the first physical, a new physical will be required prior to participation in that season. Please note that if you are transferring in from WWC or another college where you did not participate in intercollegiate athletics, you will be required to obtain a new physical.
Supplemental Athletic Insurance
All students are required to have personal health insurance. This insurance may be through a parent's plan or purchased through the University. Philadelphia Biblical University provides supplemental insurance for those athletic injuries due to accidents that occur while participating in athletics. Once the athlete has met all of their deductibles and co-payments any outstanding charges that the primary insurance company will not pay reverts back to BOLLINGER INC. In order for BOLLINGER INC. to process these claims, they require an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) from the primary insurance company stating non-payment and an insurance claim form.
The NCAA provides a catastrophic injury insurance policy for all of its member institutions' athletes. If you have any questions regarding these insurance coverage’s, please visit the NCAA's website at www.NCAA.org.
