University Mission:
Philadelphia Biblical University exists to educate students to serve Christ in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated, and professionally competent men and women of character.
Athletics Mission:
Philadelphia Biblical University’s athletic program aims to provide intercollegiate athletic competition that complements the University’s academic programs by developing essential leadership skills for men and women of character. The athletic program will be conducted in such a way as to facilitate excellence in the field of play, foster positive character development and high standards of personal honor, sportsmanship, and fair play. Student-athletes shall be challenged to both compete and live their lives in a manner which reflects a high level of excellence and a relationship with Christ and to excel in the classroom.
Why Crimson Eagles:
PBU changed its mascot from "Crusaders" to "Crimson Eagles" in the fall of 1982. There are multiple characteristics portrayed through the eagle such as power, speed and agility. In addition, the eagle is also known for its intelligence, coordination and integrity. The athletic teams of PBU desire to model the characteristics of the eagle throughout all of their actions both on and off the field.
